LIVE – B CORP

Mission Statement

ViVi aims to contribute to people's well-being and serenity by offering food prepared with selected ingredients and carefully served in beautiful locations.
Our commitment is to create a dining experience that puts people, respect for the environment, and a kind and luminous sense of hospitality at its core.

A journey that starts from afar

ViVi was founded in Rome in 2008 with the idea of combining dining, beautiful locations, and a focus on quality ingredients. Over time, we've strived to develop our business, taking into account not only our economic objectives but also the impact a business can have on people, the local area, and the environment.

To make this commitment more concrete and measurable we have chosen to undertake the path of Benefit Corporation and certification B Corp.

Benefit Corporation

Since 2020 ViVi Srl is a Benefit Corporation.

This means that, in addition to its economic objectives, the company has included in its bylaws a commitment to pursuing goals of common benefit, considering the impact of its activities on people, communities, the local area, and the environment.

Every year we report on this commitment through a Impact Report, which describes the initiatives undertaken and the improvement objectives.

B Corp Certification

In 2022 ViVi obtained the B Corp certification, released by B Lab, an international non-profit organization that evaluates companies through the B Impact Assessment, a tool that analyses various aspects of business activity, including:

  • governance and transparency

  • human resources management

  • relationship with the community

  • environmental impact of activities

  • responsibility towards customers and suppliers

The certification process involves verifying the information provided by the company and assigning a minimum score required to obtain certification.

A path of continuous improvement

For us, B Corp certification isn't a point of arrival, but a tool for analyzing our processes and identifying areas where we can improve.

We recognize that the restaurant industry inevitably involves the use of resources, energy, and materials; therefore, we are committed to progressively improving our practices and communicating them transparently.

Certification Note

The “B Corporation Certification” is a trademark licensed by B Lab, a private non-profit organization, to companies that, like ours, have successfully passed the B Impact Assessment (“BIA”) and therefore meet B Lab’s requirements in terms of social and environmental performance, responsibility, and transparency.

Please note that B Lab is not a conformity assessment body pursuant to Regulation (EU) No. 765/2008 or a national, European, or international standards body pursuant to Regulation (EU) No. 1025/2012. BIA criteria are distinct and independent from the harmonized standards resulting from ISO standards or other standards bodies and are not ratified by national or European public institutions.

WHAT WE DO
FOR THE COMMON GOOD

ViVi was born from a specific idea—organic ingredients, free social activities, and a focus on environmental impact—and has grown in this direction. Today, our restaurants serve balanced dishes, with select, organic, and locally sourced ingredients, using energy from Italian renewable sources (Lifegate). Our kitchen is covered with photovoltaic panels, and our menus are rich in plant-based options, including delicious meat alternatives, all made with plant-based proteins, which we were among the first to offer in Italy. We are committed to the philosophy of well-being and offer free wellness classes every summer. Yoga in the park, We promoted the "Clean Up the Park" initiative at Villa Pamphili, fundraising to treat diseased pine trees, and a dinner to support Afghan refugees. We also signed an agreement with Rebibbia prison to provide employment to out-of-sentence inmates and promoted several charitable projects in collaboration with ACLI Roma, Komen Italia, and others.

These are just some of the positive initiatives that ViVi has carried out over the years: it is with this spirit that we approach our work every day, striving for constant improvement.

Cristina Cattaneo and Daniela Gazzini, founders and owners of the brand

Cristina Cattaneo

Becoming a Benefit Corporation was a natural progression for us. It meant choosing to include in our corporate purpose a commitment to considering, alongside our economic objectives, the impact of our activities on society and the environment. Through our initiatives, we seek to contribute to the spread of a business model that is attentive to people, the quality of relationships, and responsibility toward the planet. We have always believed in a lifestyle consistent with these values and we are happy to share it with our loyal community.”

Behind every dish served is a world: made up of farmers and ranchers, raw materials, energy, labor relationships, logistics, and even the products used to clean the premises. The B Corp movement has given us the opportunity to analyze many aspects of our business—from supply chains to internal processes—to understand where we can improve socially and environmentally. The B Corp certification, issued by B Lab, certifies that our company has been assessed according to specific standards of social and environmental performance, responsibility, and transparency. For us it is an incentive to continue to improve and to work with attention towards customers, the people who collaborate with us and the context in which we operate.”
